Queries
SHARING INFORMATION; POSTING AND/OR RESPONDING TO QUERIES; ACCESSING RESEARCH REPORTS, ETC:
We encourage the use of the Hadley-L mailing list provided by Rootsweb as the vehicle for making queries, and strongly encourage anyone who is interested in HADLEY research to subscribe to this list. It is a free service, and is where we post all findings, updates, Society notices, etc.
PLEASE do not send queries to the database manager.
If you are looking for information on a specific line or individual we recommend that you:
1) check the online database and
2) post a query to the Hadley-L mailing list.
The Database Manager has immediate access only to the information already posted. Additional information is still in the infamous 'boxes' - un-filed, unsorted, and for all intents and purposes, inaccessible. As he goes through the boxes, the information is added to the database. Any significant finds of interest to the greater number of Hadley researchers will be added to the website and/or a notice of the information will be posted to the Hadley-L mailing list.
NOTE that if you have only a casual interest in the HADLEY surname, your may send a message to the list without subscribing. The message will be forwarded by the list manager. Please include your email address so other researchers can respond to you directly. You will NOT be able to view any responses they post to the list unless you subscribe.
Also remember that all past messages are archived and fully searchable by going to:
http://archiver.rootsweb.com/th/index/
Another item to remember is that for purposes of privacy, we do not publish in the online database information on persons born within the last 75 years - even if we have the information.
You may also wish to check out the Hadley Message Boards at:
Genforum.com, and
Ancestry.com
You are welcome send your specific questions to our Archivist.
