| She had an enthusiasm for life and approached every project she tackled with great commitment, energy and enthusiasm. If she didn’t know much about it, she learned – as in the case of our Hadley website. Sherri had practically no experience with website design and management, but having decided to take it on, she found an instructor, spent hours working and learning, and did a great job for all of us. In addition to her passion for family history, Sherri enjoyed sewing, arts, and crafts, and was recently elected the president of her local quilting guild - the most junior member of the guild to ever hold the position. Sherri and Jim belonged to two RV clubs that took them on many outings. Sherri also held offices in, and did volunteer work for, the clubs, as well as helping in the family business. Sherri never tired of learning and continuing her education. She recently received her Psychology degree from Texas A&M in Corpus Christi. Sherri enjoyed her family, especially her grandchildren, and the challenge of coming up with fun things to do with and for them. One of her loves was ‘paper dolls’ – she even learned how to make them on the computer and shared them with young girls of her acquaintance, just for the joy of it. Sherri also enjoyed teaching Etiquette classes to young people. The daughter of Larry L. and Alicia A. (RICHEY) HADLEY, Sherri married Jim Rice, with whom she recently elebrated their 25 th wedding anniversary. Sherri served as the website manager for the Hadley Society for about 3 years. Sherri approached life with enthusiasm, a sense of humor, and a lot of energy. Those of us who had the great good fortune to know and work with her will never forget her. Her passion for all things Hadley buoyed up many of us and her enthusiasm was contagious. We will greatly miss her. |
