Sidney Hadley was born on 16 October 1822 in Guilford County, North Carolina. He was
the son of Jonathan Hadley (1779 - 1826) and Ann (Nancy) Long (1786 - 1870).
On 25 December 1845 Sidney married Sarah Haydock (13 May 1823 - 01 August 1850) at White Lick Monthly Meeting in Morgan County, Indiana.
Sarah was the daughter of Benjamin and Ruth Dixon Haydock. Sidney and Sarah had three children:
2. Alphonso Hadley (06 October 1848 - 04 September 1840) 3. Benjamin Hadley (29 July 1850 - 08 August 1850) After Sarah's death, Sidney married Amyrah Griest (04 September 1828 - 22 July 1921) on 23 September 1852, at Sugar River Monthly Meeting in Montgomery County, Indiana. Sidney and Amyrah had four children:
2. Alonzo Hadley (24 September 1855 - 1920) 3. Lydia A. Hadley (01 November 1857 - January 1957) 4. Horace G. Hadley (18 October 1859 - September 1860)
The 1860 Federal Census of Indiana shows Sidney Hadley as a druggist and Post Master at Annapolis, Parke County, Indiana. Sidney is also said to have worked as a school teacher and a saddler. Sidney Hadley is buried at Bloomfield (now Bloomingdale) Monthly Meeting in Parke County, Indiana.
