Mahlon C. Hadley was born 13 February 1835 in Clinton County, Ohio. Mahlon was the son of Jonathan D. Hadley (1810-1872) and Susannah W. Clawson (1812-1874). On 02 July 1857, he married Emily Caroline Pyle, who was born in 1840. She was the daughter of ?? and Isabel ??. Mahlon and Emily had the following children:
