Simon Wilson Hadley was born 19 April 1831 in Surry County, North Carolina. He was
the son of Spencer Hadley (1810-1891) and Caroline Wilson (1807-1893).
On 29 July 1855 he married Mary Selwin Tulburt in Hardin County, Iowa.
Mary was born 23 September 23 1833 in Surry County, North Carolina, and she
was the daughter of William Tulburt and Mary Ann Howard.
Simon and Mary had three children:
2. Dora Aminda Hadley (01 December 1867 - 22 April 1941) 3. Rufus Howard Hadley (10 June 1869 - 09 August 1893) Simon died on 05 July 1898 and Mary died on 02 May 1933. They are buried at New Providence Cemetery in Hardin County, Iowa.
