Found Photos & Unknown Hadleys

This message was posted on the Hadley Message Board at Ancestry.com. The picture was graciously forwarded to the Hadley Society in the hopes it could be "reunited" with the proper descendants.

I recently purchased a posed studio photograph (“Panel” Portrait) of a handsome young man at an antique shop in Morris, IL. The man in the photo is “Lawrence Hadley”, of Danville, Indiana. Danville is in Hendricks Co. I enjoy buying lovely old pictures like these in antique shops and locating descendants/family members so that I can re-unite the pictures, for only my costs, with people who will treasure them.

The picture was taken in about 1905, and is one of a group of about 25 I purchased, all taken by the same photographer in Richmond, Indiana (F. J. Parsons Studio). Most of those pictured have written “Earlham College” and “’04” or "‘05” on the backs of their photos, along with their own names, and I believe all those pictured to be graduates of Earlham in Richmond, IN (which is in Wayne Co). Mr. Hadley is dressed in a coat, shirt and tie and appears to be in the neighborhood of 22 years old. The picture is 4- ¼” x 8”, and is an original on heavy cardstock as was typical during that time period. It is in very good condition.

If you can relate to Lawrence Hadley or the Hadley family of Hendricks Co., IN, please Email me directly at margerice@prodigy.net and I will get back to you soon.

Note: We believe this to be Lawrence Nathan Hadley, 27 December 1888 - November 1958. If you can positively identify him, please contact the webmaster.
